History
We started Portland Flag Football as a non-profit sports league after bringing a bunch of friends together for a Turkey Bowl football game in 2009. A community began to develop after we all started playing pick-up games together every week. We explored joining leagues in the Portland area, but didn't like the high cost and high volume approach to most leagues. Paying a bunch of money to play a game on a sliver of a field with two other games going on around me wasn't the right fit for us. So, in 2010, Portland Flag Football - a free sports league - was born. Our players are all involved in our league meetings to vote on any changes to improve our league. We've evolved since 2010, as we voted to start charging to cover our basic costs and deliver even more to our players. We never set out to do this for the money, which is why we keep our costs very low. We set out to deliver a fun and relaxed flag football league that delivers what others don't. Give us a try.
