History
OIA began in 1997 when a small group of people purchased and reorganized an esthetic school located in Ashland, Oregon. OIA flourished due to a growing need for high-quality undergraduates and continuing education in the rapidly expanding field of esthetics. In January 2001, OIA expanded to the Talent location and then again moved in 2004 when a building was bought and remodeled in Talent. In March 2006 OIA was purchased by former student Kate Wasserman. In August 2011 OIA moved to Ashland into the former Phoenix Day Spa and has now become Imani Institute of Cosmetology offering Esthetic, Nail and Hair programs.
