History

The Community Tool Library was started by Green Lents as a free resource for neighbors around the Foster Road area in the Lents, Powellhurst-Gilbert, Pleasant Valley, Montavilla, Foster-Powell, Brentwood-Darlington, and Mt. Scott-Arleta neighborhoods. Eligible members can check out home and garden tools or books for a week, similar to the book library. Sharing tools and resources is a sustainable way to build community and have access to tools that you may only use once.

This place is great. I went for the first time last week to borrow some tools. All of the volunteers were super helpful and kind. What a wonderful place to have in our neighborhood!

Great community resource and awesome rental prices! The tools are all donated so they are largely very much used; the saw blade in the circular saw was so worn the wood was barely being cut....
