History
Gathering Together Farm is an enterprise in certified organic vegetable and fruit production that began in 1987. Our home base is just south of Philomath, Oregon on Grange Hall Road. Our fields are small odd-shaped parcels of land, 1 to 5 acres in size, hugging the Mary's River. All totaled, we farm over 50 acres. Gathering Together is owned by John Eveland and Sally Brewer, husband and wife. In the heat of the summer, there will be over 120 of us working hard to nurture and harvest high-quality food, prepare it for customers, and sell it at market. In 2003 we expanded our on-farm offerings by building our beautiful Farmstand. Originally it was soups, salads, and pastry along with our organic produce. We now offer lunch, dinner, and Saturday breakfast in the flavors of Italian-influenced Northwest cuisine. It's a wonderful location for tasting some of the fruits of our labor. The season's best produce is combined with locally grown meats and regional seafoods in the hands of our chef.
Specialties
At the GTF Restaurant, we highlight fresh exquisite produce at its absolute best. The care that goes into our produce is the same care that goes into producing our menu. We prepare our menus and dishes with deep respect for the European tradition of peasant cuisine. We work with our hands. We make our own pasta. We bake our own bread. We make pates, mousses, terrines, hams, and sausages. Some items will be familiar and some will be an adventure. All dishes will be crafted thoughtfully with respect to the land and local businesses.
