Douglas County Fire District No.2, established in 1992, serves the urban and rural areas in Green, Wilbur, Umpqua, Roseburg, Melrose, Winchester and Dixonville, Ore. It undertakes emergency access provisions, hazardous material regulation compliance, as well as special event, property, and fire and life safety inspections. The fire district offers several public fire safety education programs, as well as conducts fire drills and presentations. It specializes in fire cause and origin determination and juvenile fire setter assessment and intervention. The fire district s staff members undertake emergency activities, such as fire suppression, containment of hazardous material incidents, as well as water, trench, confined space, and high- and low-angle rescue operations. In addition, it offers emergency medical care, such as advance life support and ambulance transport through its FIREMED program.
