History
I am a registered professional counselor intern with the state of Oregon. After receiving an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Rutgers University, I spent four years working as a counselor. I then transitioned into education and worked as a classroom teacher for over 13 years. During that time, I encountered many children, adolescents and families who struggled in a variety of ways. These experiences fueled my curiosity for the root cause underneath the struggles people face. Acting on this curiosity and a desire to make a positive impact, I earned a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University in Southern California. Besides my clinical training, I bring a rich life experience into my work with clients which informs much of my approach to therapy. I am also an adjunct professor at Pacific Bible College where I teach courses in psychology. I find teaching enhances my professional skills, allowing me to utilize the most effective methods with clients.
Specialties
The pursuit of self-exploration is a courageous one. I aid clients in finding the roots of their emotional pain and working through past traumas, driven by my belief that effective therapy addresses the whole of the individual - physical/biological, spiritual and psychological (mind/soul). If I sound like someone you'd like to work with, I'd love to talk.
