The Public Health Division is a part of the Oregon Department of Human Services. The division provides various programs and services related to public health care and environment regulation. It offers various services, such as education on the prevention of epidemics and spread of diseases, promotion of healthy behavioral habits and protection against environmental hazards and injuries. It also assists individuals with healthy recoveries and assures accessibility of health care services throughout the state. The organization monitors health facilities to identify, diagnose and investigate community health problems. It informs and educates people about health issues; mobilizes community partnerships to identify and solve health problems; and develops policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts. It additionally enforces laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety. The division is located in Portland, Ore.
