Established in 1906, the Association of Oregon Counties provides a variety of developmental programs to improve the services of county governments with the Oregon Legislature and state agencies. It represents the state and federal government, as well as offers information on clearinghouse, governance and community development. The association consists of all the 36 counties of Oregon and is operated by elected and appointed officials. It additionally provides a range of communication, public outreach, human service, public safety and transportation programs. The association offers technical assistance, research, training and program management services. It also organizes several conferences and workshops. The Association of Oregon Counties is located in Salem, Ore.
