History
ADX evolved out of Art Department, an event space for creative Portlander's started by Kelley Roy in November 2009. Inspired by a July 10, 2010 New York Times article about 3rd Ward in Brooklyn, owner Kelley Roy and her team embarked on a 3 month process to determine exactly what ADX should become. During the build out of our 12,000 square foot facility we hosted a series of open houses to get constant feedback from designers, makers, artists and the community at large. Since opening in June 2011, ADX has become a hub for boat builders, furniture makers, artists, product developers and innovators. Team ADX provides superior customer service to our members; maintains a clean, safe and open shop; offers a wide variety of classes; and provides excellent production quality through out fabrication services department. Come in and make it yourself, learn how to make it yourself, or let us make it for you. Either way you become part of our thriving community of thinkers and makers. Welcome!
