Oklahoma Turnpike Authority was formerly known as the Oklahoma Transportation Authority. It is a division of the state of Oklahoma and a body corporate established in 1947. The authority is responsible to construct, maintain, repair and operate turnpike projects at locations authorized by the legislature and approved by the State Department of Transportation. It also receives revenues from turnpike tolls and a percentage of the turnpike concession sales. The organization issues revenue bonds for the purpose of paying the costs of turnpike projects and turnpike revenue refunding bonds. The organization is located in Oklahoma City.
