The Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters (OAB) is a non-profit organization that represents commercial radio and television stations in Oklahoma. With a membership of 152 radio stations, 29 television stations, 20 non-commercial educational stations, and 28 associate members, the OAB serves to promote the cooperation and prosperity of its members while also serving the public interest. They provide valuable resources and information on regulation, advertising, employee recruitment, education, and training, addressing the various issues affecting the ever-changing broadcasting industry.
Established in 1948 as an association of radio broadcasters, the OAB has grown over the years and expanded its membership to include television stations as well. In 1983, the Oklahoma Telecasters Association merged with the Oklahoma Broadcasters Association, leading to the name change to the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters in 1988. Governed by a 12-member Board of Directors, the OAB continues to be a trusted resource for its members, offering support and guidance on industry-related matters.
