The Oklahoma Department of Labor was created by the Oklahoma Constitution in 1907. Its divisions include administration, safety standards, statistical research, licensing and Occupational Safety and Health Administration consultation. The department s administration division handles various business functions, including communications, finance, accounting, human resources, purchasing, research, legal services, legislative affairs, data processing services, mails and reception. Its safety standards division regulates the installation, operation and maintenance of boilers, pressure vessels, hot water heaters and amusement rides. The department s Occupational Safety and Health Administration consultation division protects public employees from workplace accidents and injuries. The Oklahoma Department of Labor maintains its office in Oklahoma City.
