HistoryLocated in what was once the heart of Indian Territory, the Museum Broken Arrow features several themed and interactive exhibits in unique settings. For example, visitors to the museum will enjoy a genuine and complete, hand-hewn Civil War-era log cabin and a 1930s jail cell. Other exhibits include presentations of the City of Roses, Cotton Jubilee, Broken Aro Coal Mining, Rooster Day & Rodeo. The Tribal Town exhibit recreates an open-air setting with a roundhouse enclosure that tells the story of the Broken Arrow band of Muscogee (Creek) Indians that gave their name to the modern city. Their story is told from their Alabama beginnings to the Dawes Act and allotment of their lands at the time of statehood. Enjoy soundtracks of Muscogee hymns, stomp dance and flute music.
