Oklahoma Department of Human Services, established in 1936, provides welfare and health care services to the citizens of Oklahoma. The department offers services for adults, children, youths, families, and disabled and the elderly individuals. In addition, it offers community, business and employer, and health-related and medical services. Oklahoma Department of Human Services promotes the development of healthy families and protects children from abuse and neglect with several programs, such as Child Protective Services and Domestic Violence Prevention. Oklahoma Department of Human Services operates more than 75 local offices in Oklahoma, including one in Muskogee.
