HistoryOpening a small business almost 20 years ago was one of the most frightening, yet rewarding, steps of my career. At that time, corporate banks were not focused on an average homeowner or making home-ownership affordable. They required large down payments and primarily serviced the needs of high-end homeowners. This did not sit well with me. The average Oklahoman deserves the same respect and access to mortgage funding, regardless if the loan is $50,000 or $1M dollars. I am happy with my choice to take a stand for equality and be a voice for those, who before 2000, had fewer loan choices and higher cost of home ownership. My way of thinking is clearly not accepted by everyone in our industry, I can live with this. I could not live with is knowing I had the knowledge and talent to help others, and wasted the opportunity to serve.
