Tommy and Lucille Day established the Daylight Donut Flour Company, which operates as Daylight Donuts, in 1954. By the 1960s, the company s sales had increased so much that a new facility was constructed and more employees were hired. By 1977, there were more than 200 donut shops and a fleet of trucks to make deliveries. By its 50-year anniversary in 2004, the company had opened more than 900 retail outlets worldwide. The first international store opened in 1990. Since then, it has opened nearly 65 other international stores in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guatemala, Romania, Greece, Japan, Bolivia and Brazil. The company s main products are cake donuts and cholesterol free raised donuts. Daylight Donut Flour Company maintains headquarters in Tulsa, Okla.
