Cody Griffin, DO earned two bachelor’s degrees from East Central University in Ada, Okla. before attending the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete an internship and excel in residency at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City before pursuing a prestigious orthopedic spine surgery fellowship at the Texas Back Institute in Plano, Texas. Dr. Griffin is a member of the North American Spine Society, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics and the Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Society reserved for those graduating at the top of their medical school class. Dr. Griffin has also completed multiple research projects and presented at national conferences. Dr. Griffin has extensive training in operative and non-operative management of spine disorders. He prides himself on being a conservative surgeon and only offers surgical intervention when all non-operative therapies have been exhausted. His surgical techniques consist of minimally invasive surgery (MIS), which involves smaller incisions to minimize soft tissue disruption, up to open surgery for the treatment of complex conditions such as scoliosis. He believes in motion sparing surgery, such as artificial disc replacements, and attempts alternatives to fusion when possible.
