In 2006, Dr. McConn received his bachelor's degree from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas, where he also played baseball. His participation in sports sparked an interest in medicine, and having found his calling, Dr. McConn earned his medical degree at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois.After graduating in 2015, he completed his surgical residency (West Penn) with Allegheny Health System in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which he completed in 2018. Directly after his residency training, Dr. McConn was accepted into one of the preeminent foot and ankle fellowships specializing in sports medicine and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at Weil Foot, Ankle, and Orthopedic Institute in Chicago, which he completed in 2019. He continues to be involved with the educational aspect of the practice. He is published in the Achilles tendon, ankle arthroscopy, and forefoot reconstruction.
