Black Liberated Arts Center Inc (BLAC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been providing the Oklahoma community with a diverse range of artistic experiences for over 50 years. Through their season of music, dance, and theater, as well as the annual Charlie Christian International Music Festival, BLAC aims to educate and expose the community to African and African-American culture, with a particular focus on engaging and educating the youth of Oklahoma.
BLAC is dedicated to promoting arts integration and meeting the needs of students through their professional development conferences, which feature workshops by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Led by Executive Director Anita Arnold, BLAC has been a driving force in showcasing the talents of local artists and producers, such as Emmy award-winning producer George Wesley, and continues to be a vital institution in celebrating and preserving Oklahoma's rich cultural heritage.
