The North Carolina Division of Air Quality, also known as DAQ, works with state's citizens to protect and improve outdoor air quality in North Carolina. It provides programs for monitoring air quality and permitting and inspecting air emissions sources. The division also educates and informs the public about air quality issues. The North Carolina Division of Air Quality is a part of the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources. In addition, it enforces state and federal air pollution regulations. The division offers the Air Awareness Program. The North Carolina Division of Air Quality conducts toxic air pollutant monitoring activities. It also provides information on hazardous and toxic air pollutants.
