The Ohio Department of Youth Services is a juvenile corrections system that is mandated to confine felony offenders between the ages of 10 and 21. It coordinates various programs that address criminological and behavioral concerns. The department operates a year-round school that offers general curriculum, as well as vocation opportunities. The Ohio Department of Youth Services maintains more than five correctional, rehabilitation and private treatment facilities and provides parole services. It maintains facility programs and operations, finance and planning, legal services, human resources, and parole and community services divisions. The department offers re-entry services, such as substance abuse treatment, character building, family programming, counseling and job placement that help juvenile offenders to return in their homes and community. The Ohio Department of Youth Services is governed by the City of Columbus in Ohio.
