The Intergenerational School offers free public charter education for students in kindergarten through the 8th grade. TIS is the only Ohio school that holds eight "Excellent" or higher ODE ratings. TIS has two locations, the K-8 Fairhill Partners campus, that mostly serves students in the Cleveland proper and East Cleveland neighborhoods, and the K-6 (will grow to K-8) campus in Ohio City, located on the west side of town at the Garrett Morgan School of Science building. The school model uses a multi-age classroom structure where each class has 16 students with a 3-4 year age span between students. Students are encouraged to learn at their own pace and advance to new grade levels when fully ready.
New student applications are available to download on the school's website and early enrollment runs through February 8th, but applications are accepted year-round for possible openings after that date. Interested parents should also attend one of the Parent Information Sessions held at the school.
