Westview Elementary School is one of four elementary schools in Avon Lake with students from kindergarten through fourth grade. Westview graduates move to Troy Intermediate School and then Learwood Middle School before attending Avon Lake High School. This is one of several schools that had major renovations and expansions in 2010. Westview is also the home of the city's Safety Town, which teaches young children rules of the road and safety. Paul Holland is the principal of Westview. Each year, students hold a reading contest with the winners earning the right to throw a pie at the principal. In 2010, Westview was one of several Avon Lake Schools involved in a district-wide expansion program, including expansion of the cafeteria, the addition of two new classroom and updates to the entrance area as well as a new traffic circle.
