As a college preparatory, boarding school, Olney Friends School offers a range of college-directed, community-supported education programs. Founded in 1837, its academic curriculum includes mathematics, science, English, history and religion. The school provides a variety of athletic activities, such as volleyball, tennis, softball, basketball, soccer, as well as gymnastics and yoga. Olney Friends School also has a fine arts division that offers courses in ceramic and wood carving, photography, drawing and painting. It is chartered by the state of Ohio and is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States. The school is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the Ohio Association of Independent Schools (OAIS) and the Midwest Boarding Schools Association (MWBS).
