The Olmsted Falls Police Department is a law enforcement agency that focuses on preserving peace and detects and prevents crime. The department employs a staff of more than 20 full- and part-time sworn officers, civilians, dispatchers, community volunteers, and reserve and auxiliary police officers. It maintains a K-9 unit that handles cases related to drug intervention, tracking, and searches for persons and evidences. The Olmsted Falls Police Department operates a community policing office that provides child safety seat check services. The department conducts a neighborhood watch program that encourages citizens to help in law enforcement by reporting suspicious criminal activities. It supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the usage of illegal drugs, gang activities and violent behavior.
