Ohio Central Railroad System consists of more than 10 short line railroads located in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The system s customers include a coal-fired power plant, steel producers, solid waste landfills and multiple coal mines. It is a part of Genesee & Wyoming (GWI), which owns and operates short line and regional freight railroads in the United States, Canada, Australia and the Netherlands. The parent company s operations feature over 60 railroads organized in nearly eight regions. It maintains approximately 6,800 miles of owned and leased track and more than 3,000 additional miles under track access arrangements. Genesee & Wyoming provides rail service at over 15 ports in North America and Europe. The parent company also performs contract coal loading and railcar switching for industrial customers.
