The Office of the Ohio Public Defender is an agency that is responsible for providing legal representation services for criminals. It maintains a staff of more than 130 employees. The office offers probation revocation services for adults and juvenile inmates. The Office of the Ohio Public Defender administers educational programs, as well as provides technical services. It maintains a legal division that consists of appeals and post-conviction and intake, prison and parole sections. The office handles several juvenile, felony and capital cases. The Office of the Ohio Public Defender also operates administration, death penalty, and mitigation and investigation divisions. The office is a part of the government of the state of Ohio.
