Ohio Heartland CAC Head Start is a federally funded early childhood development program for low-income and foster children. It also serves children with special needs. It offers services to children between the ages of three and five. The program serves in Marion, Morrow, Crawford and Richland counties in Ohio. It offers opportunities to participate in a variety of educational activities in the areas of science, language, literacy, math and socio-emotional development. The program also includes meals and snacks, as well as bus riding activities. Additionally, it provides opportunities for families to participate in the areas of health, job preparation and nutrition. Located in Mansfield, Ohio, Ohio Heartland CAC Head Start is a part of OHCAC, also known as Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission, which is a private, nonprofit organization that offers medical and educational services.
