Founded in 1915, the Musical Arts Association (MAA) is the parent organization of The Cleveland Orchestra, which is one of the leading symphonic ensembles worldwide. Established in 1918, The Cleveland Orchestra administers a variety of educational concerts, commercial recordings, radio broadcasts and imaginative programs. It maintains a youth chorus that raises awareness of choral music-making in the schools of northeastern Ohio, as well as encourages students to continue their choral activities through college and into adulthood. The orchestra also operates a children's chorus comprised of more than 65 members who participate in various performances. The Cleveland Orchestra is supported by several government agencies, including National Endowment for the Arts and the Ohio Arts Council.
