In addition to fire trucks and an ambulance, the City of Mentor Fire Station 4 also houses the city's technical rescue trailer and dive truck. The fire department uses this for more complicated rescues -- for example, when someone has fallen down a ravine or is in a collapsed building. The department also provides ambulance and emergency medical services to the residents.
Fire Station 4 was built in 1971, and its predecessor is located directly behind it.
The Mentor Fire Department is headed by Fire Chief Richard Harvey.
