The Medina Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that prevents and deters crime. It also preserves peace, enforces laws, protects residents lives and property and arrests violators of the law. The Medina Police Department organizes a variety of community outreach programs, such as neighborhood and vacation watch, drug and gang prevention seminars, school violence prevention, and fraud and scam security seminars. The department also supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the use of illegal drugs, membership in gangs and violent behavior. The Medina Police Department maintains the Emergency Services Unit (ESU), which deals with high-risk and dangerous situations, including barricaded persons, high-risk warrant arrests, explosive devices and heavily-armed criminals.
