Founded in 1905, The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland is the fifth oldest legal aid society in the world and has an illustrious history for providing high quality legal services for indigent clients. Legal Aid serves a five county area in northeast Ohio from Ashtabula County to Lorain County including the City of Cleveland which has the highest percentage of people living in poverty in the country. With a budget of over $5 million, The Society has 39 attorneys and 33 other professionals and support personnel to serve 231, 000 eligible clients in its service area. Community Legal Aid

Community Legal Aid is a nonprofit law firm engaged in serving the legal needs of low income and elderly residents of central northeast Ohio. It provides assistance to residents of Columbiana, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull and Wayne Counties. The firm offers an array of legal services pertaining to poverty law and provides information about laws and the legal system. It is governed by local lawyers, members of the client community and others concerned about equal access to justice. The firm offers online help and has a self-help library and a legal aid clinic.
