Kol Israel Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Beachwood, OH, that was established in 1959 by Holocaust Survivors who settled in Cleveland. Initially serving as a social community and extended family for the Survivors, Kol Israel now focuses on honoring the lives of Holocaust Survivors and engaging their descendants, families, and supporters to preserve the legacy and lessons of the Holocaust.
In 1961, Kol Israel Foundation designed and built one of the first monuments in the United States dedicated to the 6 million Jews who perished in the Holocaust. The memorial, which received official historic recognition in 2016, houses the ashes of victims from various concentration camps and features engraved names of deceased family members on its surrounding walls.
