Ohio State Highway Patrol is an accredited statewide law enforcement agency that protects residents lives and their property, promotes traffic safety and provides public safety services. It supports the Share the Road Safely program that is presented by motorists throughout Ohio on commercial trucks as part of a statewide campaign to remind both car and truck drivers to share Ohio roadways safely. The Ohio State Highway Patrol offers investigation of traffic crashes, aid in highway breakdowns, background checks, driver tests and vehicle inspections. The agency also provides emergency response and support services to the public and criminal justice community. The Ohio State Highway Patrol has been operational for more than 75 years and maintains a state trooper post in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
