The Help Hotline Crisis Center was incorporated in 1971 as a drug information line for Mahoning County, Ohio. It is a nonprofit, crisis intervention, and community information and referral center. The center provides suicide prevention and intervention, support and counseling services for individuals with mental disorders. Located in Youngstown, Ohio, it supports cold weather emergency and homeless shelter programs. The Help Hotline Crisis Center is licensed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health. The center is affiliated with the American Association of Suicidology, and Mahoning and Columbiana Counties Mental Health Administrators Associations, as well as the Alliance of Information and Referral Services. The Help Hotline Crisis Center s staff includes more than 40 part- and full-time employees and over 30 paraprofessional volunteers.
