Harding Middle School, located in Cleveland and named in honor of President Harding, an Ohio resident, is a part of Lakewood City Schools. Established in 1925, it enrolls more than 900 students in grades six to eight. The school has a teacher to student ratio of 1-to-15. The administration facilitates free communication between students, parents and among themselves, to develop a sense of a community school. It offers core subjects, such as English, math, science, computer studies and social science, as well as electives, including physical education, art, music and debate. Harding Middle School offers extracurricular activities, such as its art and social service clubs, jazz band, student council, and sports, such as basketball, volleyball, football, track and athletics.
