Formica Corporation is among the world s leaders in the design, manufacturing and distribution of surfacing materials for commercial and residential applications. Formica s product-lines include laminate, wood, stone, solid surfacing and sinks. Formica brand laminate is made of paper and resins. The papers are saturated with resins and dried, then stacked in layers and pressed under heat. In the press, the resin is cured under high pressure, and the separate layers of paper merge and form a single sheet of laminate. The environmentally responsible company has active programs under way in all areas of environmental management. Formica utilizes its efforts in raw material management, waste management, air pollution controls and recycling. Daniel O Conor and Herbert Faber established the global company in 1913. Formica is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, and maintains offices in Sunset Whitney Ranch, Calif., Lithia Springs, Ga., Grand Prairie, Texas, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico and Quebec, Canada.
