The Family Child Learning Center is a research and training program located in Tallmadge, Ohio. It provides support services for young children with developmental disabilities and their families. The center is sponsored by Akron Children's Hospital in conjunction with Kent State University. The Family Child Learning Center offers family-centered developmental services. It maintains a staff of more than 50 full- and part-time professionals and parents. The center provides early intervention, individualized family service planning, play-based developmental assessment, and family information and support services. The Family Child Learning Center operates an integrated research preschool program for children between the ages of 3 and 5 who suffer from autism spectrum disorders. In addition, it offers the Regional Infant Hearing Program (RIHP) for infants and toddlers with hearing impairments.
