Fairhaven, also known as Trumbull County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, is a county organization governed by the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. The organization serves children aged birth through two with development disorders, as well as provides special education services to eligible children. Fairhaven also serves adults who have been diagnosed with disabilities before the age of 22. It offers ancillary services, such as speech, occupational and physical therapies. Additionally, the department provides early intervention and school-to-work transition programs. It maintains a senior retirement center that offers a community-based program for senior citizens with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. Fairhaven maintains a location in Warren, Ohio.
