Established in 2001 through the merger of Templum and the Center for Prevention of Domestic Violence, the Domestic Violence Center is a social services organization that provides crisis intervention, residential and preventive services. It provides a range of educational and social programs for the victims of domestic violence and substance and child abuse. The Domestic Violence Center specializes in advocacy, counseling, housing assistance and group support services. It also offers escort services for court visits, as well as play and art therapies. Additionally, the organization provides assistance with criminal and civil protective orders and conducts social and recreational activities for children in various treatment shelters. The Domestic Violence Center is located in Cleveland.
