Wilson Bohannan Lock Company
Wilson Bohannan, the founder of the Wilson Bohannan Company, was born in 1829 in Montpelier, Vt. At a very early age, he developed a passion for mechanics and began designing and building simple locking devices. Charles T. Gibson, a lock inventor from Baltimore, was also convinced that Bohannan s inventions were worthy of production. In 1848, they formed a partnership and began designing padlocks. Eventually, Bohannan and his son set up their own independent company in 1888. The company s products include solid brass pin tumbler padlocks, double ball heel and toe locking padlocks, interchangeable core padlocks, and a variety of cylinders, such as mortise cylinders and rim cylinders. The Wilson Bohannan Company is located in Marion, Ohio.
