Formed in 1928, Boyd Watterson Asset Management is one of Cleveland's oldest money management firms. The company specialized in offering fixed income and equity investment products to wealthy families and institutions. In 1979, Boyd Watterson became a wholly owned subsidiary of Duff & Phelps Investment Management, which was later acquired by Phoenix Investment Partners. In June 2000, through a management and employee buyout, Boyd Watterson became one of the largest privately held asset management companies in Ohio. In 2003, PNC Financial Services Group acquired Boyd Watterson Asset Management to complement its institutional fixed income product offering. The acquisition by PNC gives Boyd Watterson s clients access to a greater array of products and services. As an affiliate of PNC Financial Services Group, the company s management team, personnel and investment product strategies remain unchanged and the firm continues as an Ohio-domiciled company.
