The North Dakota Highway Patrol is a full-service state agency that provides safety and security services to the residents of North Dakota. It provides protection to state buildings and facilities, conducts criminal investigations, and assists local law enforcement agencies. The agency s officers are responsible for the investigation and disposal of car accidents, debris, dead animals and other impediments to the free flow of traffic. It has a law enforcement training academy that offers a range of courses in mastering leadership skills, interviews and interrogation and basic training. The North Dakota Highway Patrol has been operational for more than 50 years and is located in Bismarck, N.D.
