The Natural Resources Conservation Service is responsible for the conservation of natural resources on private land. It provides technical assistance to landowners using voluntary programs. The agency offers opportunities for individuals and organizations to compete for contracts, grants and agreements, provides products and services and works in cooperation with the agency on projects of mutual interest. The Natural Resources Conservation Service encompasses more than 45 million surface acres of land. It works through over 55 soil conservation districts and also supports various programs, such as conservation planning and reserve, farmable wetlands, forestry incentive and grassland reserve programs. The agency collaborates with Environmental Protection Agency, National Association of Conservation Districts, North Dakota Forest Service, Technical Service Providers and Usda-Rural Development.
