Wysocking Wildlife Sanctuary is an established, not-for-profit, wildlife preserve, caring for the diverse, temperate habitats and the myriad migratory and indigenous species of the eastern seaboard in North Carolina, including a large variety of fleeting and endangered wildlife. Operating in diverse, temperate habitats, we are actively engaged, on a daily basis, in supporting the fragile balance of our natural world. Through research, education, partnerships with state and federal conservation agencies, and awareness, we are better evolving habitats and developing sustainable husbandry to remain at the forefront of preservation advancements. Wysocking is also home to state certified wildlife rehabilitators. These operations include the rescues, rehabilitation, and release of wildlife onto the preserve. Currently, the sanctuary covers over 7500+ acres and is home to species such as: eagles, ospreys, owls, other birds of prey, bobcat, black bear, red wolves, coyotes, songbirds, ducks, swan, geese, other migratory birds, alligator, minx, otter, various small mammals, and many other species. Our sanctuary covers a variety of natural habitats, including vast waters, forests, swamps, prairies, heavy brush, marshes, and even mountains. We will continue to expand through research and strategic acquisition, striving to assist distressed wildlife and building perpetual habitats in an eco-friendly approach.
