Richard and William Williams formed Williams Auto Body in September of 1958. Rich had a long history of managing and repairing vehicles for local dealerships in the Green Bay area since the mid 1920's. After his son William or Bill finished his tour of duty in the military in 1957, they decided to go into business for themselves. They built the first shop on the land that it currently stands on today and had enough foresight to see that this area would grow and support their new business because this area was all farm fields at the time. About the same time the Green Bay Packers chose to locate a block away with their new stadium, which made their decision a very good one even today. After a few years of getting their feet on the ground they needed more room in the shop. So in 1963 they doubled the size of their facility. In 1971 Rich wanted to cut back and start his retirement so Bill bought out Rich and continued to grow the business. In 1974 Bill added another addition to move his office into and out of an over crowded shop. In 1980 they needed more room and again doubled the square footage of what they had. With the changing industry and the technology advancements along with the growing business, things were changing rapidly. In 1993 Bill put on the final addition that you see today to push the total square footage to 12, 000 sq feet. In 1980 Bill's son Mark wanted to join the business after his graduation from school. He became a full time employee learning the business side from his dad as time went on. In 1982 Bill came down with cancer and had several surgeries. Mark ran the business through Bills recovery and still does today. In 1997 Mark, the 3rd generation of Williams took over control and bought out Bill because of health and Bills retirement. In 1998 Mark took on Jim Zuege as his partner and are the current owners today. Over the years we have a lot of people that made our success possible.
