The Appalachian Regional Library is a public library system in northwestern North Carolina serving Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes County. Library cards are available free to residents and property owners in the area. Print materials, audio books and music CDs may be checked out for three weeks and renewed three times. Videos and DVDs may be checked out for seven days and are not renewable. Members may check out five movies and 10 audio books on each card and there is no limit on the number of books checked out. Library material may be renewed online, by telephone and in person. The Wilkes County library is located in North Wilkesboro, N.C.
