Take US Hwy 64 from Murphy or Hayesville or Hwy 141 from Hwy 74 in Marble ( dead ends at Hwy 64 in Peachtree ) to Peachtree, NC. Old 64 turns off Hwy 64 between the produce stand ( located at the old drive in theater ) and Tri-County Community College. Coming from Murphy turn right or from Hayesville turn left on old 64. There is a 4 x 8 Tri-County Racetrack sign on the corner of the road near the old produce stand.Go south approximately 2.5 miles south, through Brasstown to the track that is on your left. For those that want to look up the track on Map Quest or any other site, the 911 list the track is: Tri-County Race Track 10456 Old Hwy 64 W, NC 28902 Brasstown If you are coming from Hayesville on Hwy 64 there are ways to get to the track using Green Cove Rd. etc. For those of you who are familiar with the area it is the shortest way. For those unfamiliar with the area take the longer way, the one described above as the short cut will most likely end up being a whole lot longer. Tri-County Race Track was build by current owner Jack Wimpy in 1964. From 1964 to 2002 the track was operated by Wimpy a number of other groups and individuals. In 2002 Wimpy and then promoter Phil Evans reworked the track moving the pits outside turns one and two creating a third mile oval. Tri-County Race Track is the Saturday night place to be in the Tri-State area. It brings the best in southern dirt track racing to the area every Saturday night. Mini Stock, Street Stock and Modified Street, Sportsman, Crate Late Model and Super Late Models are the six classes that race weekly. The track is a family run operation and provides live entertainment at affordable prices for the whole family. Racing starts on or about 6: 30 PM and on most nights is over around 11 PM.
