Talley Machinery Corporation became part of Tingue, Brown & Co in 1991. Talley, a skilled machine and parts manufacturer, offered anything from replacement parts to fully restored, better-than-new machines. The company has been known since 1902 for flatwork ironer paddings, covers, aprons, and a wide range of other products for the laundry industry. The Tingue name, however, was known and respected in textiles 30 years before that. Tingue's presence in the laundry market was complemented by Talley. Meanwhile, European innovation led to American interest in "large-roll" ironers. These have new and different padding requirements, so Tingue, Brown brought out two new paddings: "Max Press" steel spring padding, whose capped coil springs provide a very smooth surface, and aramid-blend "Tingue Gold", the latest development in Tingue's historic line of felts. Talley Machinery is located in Greensboro, N.C.
