The concept of The Children's Schoolhouse was started in 1971 by a group of Davidson parents looking for a preschool based on sound principles of early childhood development. The belief that children are naturally curious and intuitive people who thrive by exploring and discovering the world around them has remained consistent through the years. Our curriculum is built on a trust in the power of play and on the concept that children learn primarily on doing rather than listening.
